Which one do I choose?

I have just spent the day taking photos of a current pattern in the works called Gridlock (final editing in the process).  I have a slight dilemma.  Which photo do I use?

 this one (1)?

or change the placement of the 'Gridlock' blocks to the bottom (2)?

How about in an archway (3)?

Again changing up the second image (4)

 or on a tree(5)?

and just to make things really complicated...
Do I just use a single image?
  (A)

 (B)

Any suggestions would really help!  In the mean time I will ask all the family ;p
Okay back to editing the pattern.

'Our Little Bird Pattern' Giveaway

Hi All
For the last little while I have been trying to do this blog post but for some reason the my blog wasn't loading up properly and I was unable to sign in!  :(
You might remember I have recently released a new quilt Pattern called "Our Little Bird Family'? Well today I wanted to show you two more quilts made from that very pattern in different fabrics.

This version was actually the very first quilt I made for this pattern from Kate Spain fabrics.  These are not fabrics I would normally choose (red and blue ;p) but I really love how it came together.  It was quilted by the lovely Sarah Fraser of Patchworks Plus.   Isn't her quilting beautiful?!

It actually appeared in Homespun Magazine and even made it to the cover way back in January 2012.

This version my wonderful mum made when she tested the pattern for me .  She used Me & My Sister fabrics and it gives a completely different look.

Now this version is the new cover release made from Emily Taylor's fabrics  again these are not fabrics I would normally use but when I saw these fabrics I knew I have to use them!  I love it!

Now who would like to win a copy of the 'Our Little Bird Family' quilt pattern?!  Leave a comment on this post telling me which fabrics you prefer (it can be those above or an entirely different collection) to be in the draw to win your very own copy of 'Our Little Bird Family' pattern.  The giveaway is open to everyone and the winner will be drawn in a weeks time.  Just be sure to leave your email so I have a way of contacting you!
If you would like to purchase a Clares Place pattern contact your local quilt store and ask them to get one (or more) in for you.  If you are interested in stocking Clares Place patterns in your store please contact my distributor Creative Abundance

'Our Little Bird Family' - A New Pattern!

I am excited to announce another Quilt pattern release.  This one is called "Our Little Bird Family' and was actually first appeared way back in January 2012 when it made it to the cover of Homespun Magazine  (Happy Dance).  With all the overcast raining days we have been having (here anyway) this is the perfect project to stay indoors and make - and then snuggle under when it is complete :).

I decided that when I 'officially' released it as a pattern I wanted to remake it in some new fabrics and offer a slightly different applique and stitchery panel to what first appeared.  That is the beauty of this pattern.  I have designed it to represent YOUR family so you can change the birds and or flowers to suit your individual tastes.  You could even just use all birds or all flowers what so ever your heart desires it is your choice.!  Pretty neat hey?!

The photos of the quilt are kind of sentimental!  You see the sewing machine?  (Beautiful Hey!?)  Well that used to be my grandmas who has since passed away.

She loved to sew and was so supportive of anything we did and especially loved all things arts and crafts so I thought it only appropriate to have a little bit of my grandma with 'Our Little Bird Family' quilt.

“The family is one of nature’s masterpieces” - George Santayana
Everyone belongs to a family whether it is big or small whatever your family size, this quilt is designed to be a personal reflection by simply adapting the appliqué and stitchery templates.  Family can be the ones that uplift and strengthen you in tough times and enjoy the happiness in the fun times so why not make this quilt about those you love to snuggle and enjoy together?

I will be back later with more photos of this quilt made in different fabrics and a GIVEAWAY so stay posted!

Fabrics:  Avignon designed by Emily Taylor for Riley Blake Designs.
To get the same fabrics I used to make this quilt head on over here .

Rubies for Grandma

As Promised I am back to introduce you to one of the patterns I released at market.

Meet:  Rubies for Grandma.

The name came about because of the fabric range I used to make this quilt was Bonnie and Camille’s Ruby fabrics and I was allowed to use my mother in Law (aka grandma)’s fabrics to make her this quilt (hence Rubies for Grandma).

This eye-catching quilt is sure to impress, with bright pinwheels alternating with Roman blocks.  This design is a perfect way to showcase your favourite fabrics!

I really enjoyed making this quilt and love this fabric! At 57” x 66 ½” (145cm x 169 cm) finished  It is a great size for snuggling under on the couch.  Now I am keen to make another for me (maybe in a few weeks when orders from quilt market slow a bit).  I hope you like this new design!

Introducing ... 'SUMMERTIME'

I know here in Australia we are experiencing the wonderful *cough cough* winter weather and for some they love this time of year, but my favourite time of the year is without doubt summer.  I love the smells of summer, the colours, the foods (particularly fresh berries) - pretty much all that summer encompasses which is why I LOVE this quilt.  It is made from Barbara Jones Summertime fabrics which are so fresh and fun.  I was unable to take photos on Saturday with hubby as planned (the weather was horrible and raining) but my mum is AWESOME and was able to help me take these photos today.

We took them at a river, close to the home where I grew up.  For me this river brings back so many fun memories of summer because during summer we would cool off in the water, then play some tennis and return to the water when we got too hot ,ahhh the good ol' days of childhood - no cares or worries just fun times.

As we walked the banks of the river we took a path down under a bridge.

We used to pick blackberries along this steep rocky track that we later made into jam.  It was under the bridge that we found a perfect spot for some more photos.

The colours in the graffiti match perfectly with the quilt don't you think?

As we set off back to the car we thought that this rusty old fence also made a great backdrop for this quilt.

So for those of us in the cooler parts of the world why don't you "Chase away the winter blues by using bright citrus colours to give this modern quilt a refreshing ‘Summertime’ twist"

If you are interested in purchasing a copy of this pattern I will have it available in PDF format here on my blog and in my etsy store shortly.  If you wish to purchase a hard copy of this pattern contact any of my stockists who are sure to have them in stock shortly.  If you are a retailer and would like to stock my patterns then please contact me directly for further information.
