Introducing ... Bunting Bliss

I am super excited to introduce the first of many new patterns to be released over the next month.

Meet 'Bunting Bliss'.
This was designed quite some time ago (way back when Sherbet Pips by Aneela Hoey fabric was released) but in the process of being made the design was changed as it was not coming together as I had envisioned.  With a few modifications it came together better than I had hoped.  I am really happy with the finished design of this quilt and am so glad I made the changes to the top feature panel because now I wouldn't have it any other way.

Bunting is a stylish way to decorate and is very versatile, it has been incorporated into this quilt design to make a smart tactile quilt for girls and boys alike to enjoy.  The pattern includes instructions for adding an optional border to make a slightly larger version of the quilt if desired.’

I hope you like this quilt as much as I do!  Stay tuned for more pattern releases and sneak peeks

Spinning Wheels

As promised I have some more sneak peeks to a quilt I call spinning wheels.  It was made using Amy Butler Soul Blossoms fabrics and is a bright fresh and fun quilt.

The lovely Sarah Fraser of Patchworks Plus quilted this quilt in circles of various sizes and it has come up a treat!  Love it!

All photos are courtesy of my niece.

Stay tuned for pattern releases :)

Busy Sewing

I have been trying really hard to get a few finishes done this week because my work in progress pile seems to be growing and growing.

Lucky for me the backing and border fabric for the above quilt arrived this week (Sorry I only have a sneek peek of this quilt at the moment as the pattern is in the making).

What do you think of the backing?  I really wanted to use up some scraps from the front of the quilt.

Now I just have to get some wadding and then it is off to the quilter for this baby.
The fabrics in this quilt are from Amy Butler's Soul Blossoms range.

Bubbles & Ruffles

On Saturday I was able to get some more photos of my quilt and have now got some good photos to share (I am not a photographer by any means!). It was another overcast day so the water was not as beautiful and blue as I wanted but the sun did peek through a little – just enough to get what I needed.

And so I bring to you:

Bubbles and Ruffles

I LOVE this new quilt. (It’s my new favourite – how many favourites can a girl have?!) What do you think?

‘Bubbles & ruffles’ employs a trapunto method that adds dimension to the raw edge appliqué bubbles. Beautiful ruffles or jumbo ric rac give a chic look making this a modern, fresh and fun quilt to make and enjoy.'

I made the green and blue quilt a little while ago (which I love – blue is my favourite colour) and decided to have it made again (by mum) in a different colour scheme and alternatively uses ruffles instead of the ric rac.

I love the bright summer colours in mum’s version. When I first saw it finished I have to admit I was starting to lean towards liking hers more! :s

I am sure no matter what colour you choose for your quilt you will be impressed by the stylish modern design and may even want to take it everywhere!

For the back I pieced together some left-over fabrics to make it reversible.

The blog will be a bit quiet as I am off to the AQM for the weekend :)

Sneak Peek

Life has been slightly crazy of late and filled with ups and downs but let’s just talk about the exciting things.
The other day I headed to Port Sorell to take some photos of a new quilt I have designed and made. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t the best and it was overcast, so I wasn’t able to get any photo’s that showed the full potential and do the quilt justice - sigh.

This pattern has been some time coming and sorry to say you have to wait a little longer. The blue/green one was made and quilted a little while ago but I decided to have a second made in a different colour - oranges and yellows and has a slightly different feature (thanks mum!). I will be doing another photo shoot soon when the weather is better and then be able to show you more than just a sneak preview.
